Alison Doody
Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model since 11 November 1996. After making her debut in a feature film with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to play anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). A photographer approached Doody. Doody decided to take up modeling and subsequently the profession of commercial modeling. Doody was adamantly against glamour and nude work a clause which allowed her to pursue an acting career. After being spotted by of the director who cast the upcoming James Bond film she accepted the role of Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was selected as one of the top twelve promising young actors in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Still only 18 when she appeared in the role Doody was, and still is the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying, starring Mickey Rourke in 1987, was another early film where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody had an unspoken role as Archibald Craven's spouse Lilias during the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version from The Secret Garden. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first lead part. It aired in 1988 opposite Dawn French, John Hurt as well as Jennifer Saunders. In 1988, she starred as Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most notable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody was in the film with Sean Connery in the film, as Indy's dad. Doody was a part of Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries the British mini-series that was inspired by Hitler Diaries. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. The role she played was Flannery as Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. Doody, who had been off acting for more than 10 years, returned in 2003 to play a small part on The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her in a scene at the ceremony for awards. Doody was a co-star, along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. In 2010, Doody shot a part on Danny Dyer's feature film The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama, aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. Almeria the tierra de cinema award and an Almeria walk of fame star were presented on the 21st November 2018.
